Topics include: the foundational role of racial inscription and its expansion beyond the black/white paradigm, visual ethnography, 'the primitive,' and Orientalism, indigenous media, the 'Black Atlantic' and Diaspora, Banlieu and exilic film practice and theory, border aesthetics, race and urban space, 'post-race', and the evolving racial imaginary.
