VIC371H1: Documentary Journalism

This seminar course looks at the history and evolution of documentary journalism in print and/or visual media through changing contexts, including challenges in the digital era. Students discuss major stories in the news, focusing on some important practitioners of the genre and on ethical issues such as privacy, objectivity, and partisanship. In this course an additional fee of up to $50 may be charged for activities outside of the classroom (e.g., field trips). Such fees will be confirmed in the course syllabus.
